For the sake of getting their works done and not letting Ye Chen addicted to this world, after the system and Ye Chen had entangled for a long time, they compromised with each other. 

The system would let her stay sober, but she would only know what was happening outside and wouldn’t be able to feel anything. 

Hence, every night, Ye Chen watched R-18 movies with the system, eating melon and commenting on it. 

“Don’t you think Shifu has become a little more handsome recently? ”

“Which do you prefer, Shifu during the day or Shifu during the night? I like both. During the day, Shifu is like the untouchable Immortal, noble and captivating. During the night, Shifu is like a demon, so fucking seductive and sexy.”

“Why are you leaving ah? Why don’t you answer my question?”

After staying up and observing Jun Yan for a few days, Ye Chen and the system determined that Jun Yan indeed had a Heart Demon and had already split himself with the Heart Demon. Simply said, the Heart Demon could take over his body.  During the day, Jun Yan would be the one that has control over the body. During the night, the Heart Demon would be the one that has control over the body and did those indescribable things to Ye Chen. Jun Yan would gradually regain control over his body, it would be especially faster if the Ye Chen who got controlled with the puppet spell took the initiative to approach him. 

The system and Ye Chen discussed what kind of Heart Demon was occupying Jun Yan and came to a conclusion, the Heart Demon born in Jun Yan’s heart could only be one of the two kinds. 

One was Lust, which means Jun Yan didn’t hold any feelings for Ye Chen specifically and only lusted after her because he was alone for too long… and it just happened that there was a female disciple by his side.

The other one was his unspeakable thoughts about Ye Chen coming into being. 

Ye Chen believed based on Jun Yan’s character and charm, his Heart Demon was most likely the second one. If it’s really the second one, Ye Chen was truly satisfied in her heart and was fine with it.

Heart Demon was born because of unfulfilled desire, when the desire was fulfilled, it would slowly dissipate. This was why Jun Yan gradually regained control over his body, especially if he was using a puppet spell on Ye Chen. 

From their conclusion, Ye Chen chirped, “See, don’t you think letting him fall in love with me is the best option?”

The system was so disappointed he needed to smoke.

Recently, it has been under a lot of pressure, and it always felt that its body was about to collapse. Since then, it has learned to smoke.

Ye Chen’s mind was full of smoke, and her face darkened. The system carelessly nodded, “Fine, go ahead… Anyway, when the Female Lead comes, you will be abandoned. Don’t come crying to me if that happens.”

Ye Chen, “ T T ”

Don’t accept, don’t want to accept, really don’t want to accept this kind of task anymore!

It was a great thing that she was open-minded. She let her temper run wild for some time and decided to take a step forward. When Jun Yan arrived in the evening today, she would make her move!

Ye Chen pondered. Then again, if a thief was caught stealing, wouldn’t he be scared to death? En. She must be tactful. She should approach Jun Yan first and take the initiative to shower him with kindness, then he would confess to him. Everything would come naturally later. 

The next day, Ye Chen stood at the entrance of Jun Yan’s cave. Her tone was cautious,  “Shifu…”

No one responded. Everyone knew that people in retreat could hear the people outside, but they just chose to ignore it.

Ye Chen already prepared herself to face Jun Yan who pretended to be dead. She sat at the entrance, looking up at the sky. She slowly spoke, “Shifu, you have been in retreat for more than three years, I’m about to break through the Nascent Soul Realm. Shouldn’t you come out and watch me?”

In the room, Jun Yan listened quietly.

He really wanted to go out. He wanted to meet her. He wanted to hug her in his arms. 

Still, he didn’t move. He thought, this feeling of his, let him bear it alone. Don’t let this feeling of his get revealed. It was enough for him alone to sink deep into the mud. She still had a long way to go ahead of her. There was a vast world waiting to be discovered by her.

Whether his Dao was destroyed or preserved, it was all his own business. He wouldn’t drag her down and ruin her Dao.

So he just stood near the door. Separated by her only by a door. He was silent. He put his hand on the door, pressed it against the place where she was leaning as if he could touch her and feel her temperature just by doing it. 

She chattered for a while, her voice was full of yearning. She only stopped when the sun was setting, “Shifu, you continue your retreat. I’ll go first, I’m going to eat. Finish your retreat quickly.”

As she said, she viewed the setting sun. “I miss you.”

Jun Yan’s heart thumped. He stayed inside while secretly sending her away with his Divine Consciousness.

Ye Chen flew back with her sword and complained to 38, “Say. Why didn’t he make a sound at all? Doesn’t he like me?”

“I just remembered something, a big problem,” 38 was sorrowful, “Doesn’t Jun Yan cultivate Ruthless Dao?”

Ye Chen, “……”

She also cultivated the Ruthless Dao. She, who was born heartless and unfeeling, was actually very suitable for this Dao. At this time, she was in the stage of Indifferent and Jun Yan had begun to cultivate the stage of Profoundness.

The so-called Profoundness was to cut all the taste or feelings of the worldly affair they have experienced. There were many ways to cut it off. Some kill their beloved ones to testify it. Some never saw their beloved ones again in their life. But, those were not a real “cut”. The real cut was that even if that beloved person reappears, their heart wouldn’t be moved anymore.

Jun Yan’s Dao Heart was strong. He had cultivated it for 300 years. Nothing has ever stopped his path of cultivation. Therefore, in Jun Yan’s heart, he understood very well that someday he would cut all his emotions. As a responsible person he was, he wouldn’t drag others down with him nor hurt the other. 

“Then… Why was he so passionate and loyal to the Female Lead before?”

“He was possessed by his Heart Demon.”

“Then, what should I do?” Ye Chen frowned. “If I ignored him, his obsession would only grow and he would be possessed. If I don’t and care for him instead, he would sink deeper in his obsession and still fucking get possessed. Either way, he will be a Villain, won’t he?”

“Actually, there is another way.” The gear on 38’s brain turned,  “Let’s let his Heart Demon take shape completely. Let him lose himself in his obsession. He has split himself with his Heart Demon, if we can completely separate him and his heart demon, at that time we can make the Heart Demon disappear.”

“Doesn’t the Heart Demon exist in a person’s heart? It can be separated from the person?” Ye Chen tilted her head. 

The system explained to her, “They can. When someone fully sank, their Heart Demon would manifest and could get separated. When a Heart Demon gets separated from its vessel, it will search for another vessel. The Heart Demon can’t survive independently after it is separated from their vessel, even if it completely manifested into a demon.”

“So… it’s like, I extradite his Heart Demon to myself. Then, I’ll give myself “absolute sober”. In that way, I can use my body to trap the Heart Demon. When I die, the Heart Demon will naturally die.”

“Then how can I make his Heart Demon grow quickly?”

“Let him like you. Let him sink in his obsession. You can execute your previous plan, just be good to him.”

Ye Chen, “……”

38 lit a cigarette. It patted Ye Chen, who was sitting on the grass, on the shoulder. It comforted her, “I know you need to make a great sacrifice…”

Ye Chen woefully sighed and looked at 38, “If you know, then can you at least let me feel some feelings at night?”

38,  “= =, I really misunderstood you…”

Nevertheless, Ye Chen still began to implement her plan. Truthfully, for her, whether it was a task or not, she couldn’t let Jun Yan fall and become a devil. Another truth, she was used to being heartless and ruthless, whether to herself or to others. She was used to it. Just like Gu Jianan at the beginning, he was so cold to her, but she didn’t feel sad. 

Her thought was simple. 

For a good-looking person, everything could be forgiven. 

At day, she would go to Jun Yan’s cave. She would sit there and chatter. At night, Jun Yan’s Heart Demon would come to her. 

Lately, he didn’t directly do any indescribable things to her, instead, he would sit by her bed and begin to chat with her, answering all the questions she asked during the day.

Then, after he was done with it, he would kiss her gently. 

Sometimes he seemed to be able to perceive something, and he would directly ask, “Xiao Chen, are you awake?” ”

Ye Chen and the system were frozen stiff, but then Jun Yan would only chuckle lowly, “How could it be?”

“This is my business and I alone know it.” He bowed his head and kissed her. His eyes were closed but there were traces of bitterness on his face. “Xiao Chen, you won’t know. You won’t ever know.”

“This is too pitiful.” Ye Chen watched it with 38 beside her. They were eating watermelon. She wiped the fake tears on her eyes with the back of her hand, “I must be filial to him!”

38, “……” I’m sure that’s not how that word is supposed to be used…

Ye Chen and 38 observed Jun Yan’s every day and found that his Heart Demon was getting stronger. They were very satisfied with each other and decided to make persistent efforts.

Sometime later, a sudden change occurred, Jun Yan suddenly rushed out of the room.

At that time, Ye Chen was eating spicy chickens made by Xie Wushuang. She choked when Jun Yan flew with his sword and disappeared. 

38 also screamed in her head, “Fuck! He went to save the Female Lead! I forgot such an important plot!”

Ye Chen, “……”

“Chase him, you fool!” 38 roared.

Ye Chen stared at the spicy chicken she had just taken a bite of. She ground her teeth and put down her chopsticks. She forced herself to speak through gritted teeth, especially when Xie Wushuang came out with Sichuan Fish in his hands, “Wushuang, I’m sorry but I must go!”

Xie Wushuang was taken aback. He recalled that Ye Chen was close to breaking through and could break through at any time. She went out so rashly, it would be bad if she was nearing her breakthrough. So, Xie Wushuang hurriedly put various magic tools in his Qiankun Pouch and immediately followed after her.

Xie Wushuang was extraordinarily lucky. 

In the original world, wherever he went, the Xie Wushuang would pick up treasures and beauties here and there. Now he was only a poor cultivator who only picked up magic tools.

Ye Chen relied on 38 to catch up with Jun Yan and Xie Wushuang relied on magic tools to catch up with Ye Chen. The three of them reached a small town one after another. The small town was almost like a sea of fire. The people below were in great misery, but the masked cultivators around them didn’t care. They were searching for someone in the town. 

Jun Yan floated in the sky. He released his Divine Consciousness and directly searched for the person he was looking for. At the same time, his sword transformed into a blue-colored Yin-Yang Tai Chi Diagram^[1]. Below his feet, the Tai Chi Diagram gradually expanded. Where the diagram passed, everyone stopped and the flame extinguished.

Jun Yan seemed to have found what he searched for and went straight there. He anxiously pulled someone dressed in a yellow robe embroidered with Tai Chi Diagram from among the people who had fallen to the ground.

“Dan Chenzi!” Jun Yan quickly fed a pill into his mouth. He was anxious, “I’m late.”

“My daughter…” Dah Chenzi’s seven orifices were bleeding. There was only one breath left on the person. He stubbornly clinging to life, waiting for Jun Yan. With difficulty, he said “She… Is in the basement… Please… Accept her… As a disciple…”

Jun Yan froze. He remembered what Ye Chen had asked him. 

 “Shifu will always treat me this well, right?”

“If there is a new little shimei…”

“You won’t have a new little shimei.”

……

……

“Please!” Dan Chenzi gripped his sleeve. His voice has turned hoarse, “She has… the blood of Divine Clan…”

Divine Clan, the clan that has long since perished and was regarded as a legend between Heaven and Earth. 

Their blood was the best magic tool for cultivators. If they could grow up safely, they would sit at the throne on top of the world. 

This world of theirs was favored by Heaven, there were many people who ascended to Heaven. Someone from the Divine Clan was also destined to ascend. After ascending, they would grace their origin world with their blessing. Protecting the Divine Clan was the common philosophy of all righteous monks.

Jun Yan opened his mouth but nothing came out. He wanted to promise his friend, but he remembered Ye Chen’s bright eyes.

“Shifu!”

Ye Chen’s voice appeared behind Jun Yan. Jun Yan’s heart trembled violently.

Can’t.

He can’t do this anymore.

It can’t go on like this anymore.

Both of them should stay away from each other.

Eventually, he acquiesced. “I understand.”

“I will take your daughter as a disciple.”

Mo Shu Bai,  “Oh. I will retire you from your job as the Female Lead, then. “

Ye Chen,  “No, don’t! For the sake of beauty, I will go through the fire and water!”

Ye Chen is actually a very thoughtful girl with a clear mind. The system has never understood her. That’s why, don’t worry about her being sad or something, she is really not very sad, her heart is as hard as a dishwasher, ahhahaha.

I don’t know whether MSB subtly says XWS’s food is trash and only Jun Yan’s food is worthy for Ye Chen’s. Oh, well. Probably only me thinking too much. It’s just because Ye Chen likes spicy things… I really can’t take something with “spicy” words seriously.

Spicy chicken is a slang for trash, btw.

Ah. I don’t like this, a short chapter means a veeeery long chapter next.
